XRP Price Forecast: Traders Watch for $1.59 Breakout as Ripple Returns $1B XRP to Escrow
XRP is entering October with traders focused on a narrow technical range, while Ripple’s latest escrow activity has renewed attention on the token’s supply dynamics.
The XRP price is hovering near $1.50 after failing to sustain an earlier move toward $1.70.
The latest development came on October 1, when Ripple returned 700 million XRP to escrow following its scheduled monthly release of 1 billion tokens. The returned tokens was worth more than $1 billion at the time, leaving 300 million tokens from the monthly release outside the newly established escrow contracts.
At the same time, several technical analyses are converging around $1.55-$1.59 as an important resistance area. A sustained move through that region could change the short-term structure, while rejection would leave support levels below current prices in focus.
$1.59 Becomes the Key XRP Price Level
Recent XRP price action has created a clear battleground between buyers and sellers. The token has been moving around the $1.40-$1.50 area after retreating from its previous attempt to break above $1.70.

Xaif Crypto’s four-hour analysis identifies $1.54-$1.56 as immediate resistance, with support positioned around $1.44-$1.47. The analysis suggests that a clean break through resistance could open the way toward the $1.75 area.
A separate four-hour analysis from TheaG_eii places the critical supply zone slightly wider, between $1.54 and $1.59. According to the chart, a close above $1.59 would provide the first technical confirmation of a potential shift in momentum.
The same analysis identifies $1.39 and $1.29 as areas to watch if the price is rejected from the overhead supply zone. These levels represent technical reference points rather than confirmed future price targets.
The price structure therefore leaves the price between two clearly defined zones. Holding above support could allow another attempt at resistance, while a break below support would weaken the current setup.
Ripple’s $1B XRP Escrow Move
The latest Ripple transaction has added another layer to the XRP market discussion.
Ripple released 1 billion XRP from its escrow system on October 1, continuing a monthly process that has been in place since 2017. Shortly afterward, 700 million tokens was returned to escrow through two transactions of 400 million and 300 million tokens.

Based on the market price at the time, the returned tokens were valued at more than $1.05 billion. The transactions mean that most of the scheduled monthly release was placed back into time-locked contracts rather than remaining available for circulation.
This distinction is important when assessing the effect on the XRP coin price. A 1 billion tokens monthly unlock does not mean that the entire amount immediately enters the market.
Ripple’s escrow mechanism was designed to make the release schedule more predictable. The company can release up to 1 billion tokens each month, while portions not required for operations are generally returned to escrow.
Following the latest transactions, roughly 31.8 billion tokens remained locked in escrow. The recurring nature of these releases also means that traders have had years to monitor the schedule and incorporate it into their market expectations.
Supply Dynamics Meet XRP Market Structure
Ripple’s escrow system remains one of the most closely watched elements of the XRP circulating supply.
The monthly process creates a distinction between gross releases and the net amount that can potentially remain outside escrow. In October, 300 million XRP from the scheduled 1 billion-token release was not returned in the transactions described above.

That does not establish how those tokens will ultimately be used. Ripple has historically indicated that released XRP can support company operations, including sales and other activities, but the escrow transaction itself does not reveal the eventual destination or market impact of the tokens.
For traders watching the XRP price today, the significance may therefore be less about the headline $1 billion figure and more about how the remaining supply interacts with demand.
The market has generally had advance visibility into Ripple’s monthly escrow schedule. As a result, the transactions alone do not necessarily provide a new directional signal for the price.
What the XRP Price Forecast Shows
The current XRP forecast is largely centered on whether buyers can reclaim the resistance zone rather than on any single long-term projection.
With XRP trading around $1.48-$1.50, the $1.54-$1.59 region represents the first significant hurdle. A sustained move above $1.59 would place the recent rejection below that level into a different technical context.

Xaif Crypto has highlighted a potential move toward $1.75 following a successful breakout, while another technical roadmap maps several intermediate levels between approximately $1.43 and $1.75.
These projections should be viewed as chart-based scenarios rather than established outcomes. Cryptocurrency markets can move sharply in either direction, and a resistance breakout is not confirmed simply because price trades above a level briefly.
The opposite scenario is equally important. Failure to clear the $1.54-$1.59 supply area could keep the price confined within its recent range. A decline through the $1.44-$1.47 support region would then bring lower technical levels into consideration.
For now, $1.59 remains the most closely watched level in the near-term XRP price forecast. Ripple’s return of more than $1 billion worth of XRP to escrow reduces the amount of the October release that remains outside escrow, but the market will ultimately determine whether supply and demand can push the price through the resistance overhead.
The combination of a closely watched technical barrier, recurring escrow activity, and developing XRP-linked investment products gives traders several factors to monitor as October progresses. The next sustained move above or below the current range should provide a clearer indication of the market’s near-term direction.
