ChainTelegram (“we”, “us”) operates chaintelegram.com, an independent cryptocurrency news and market-data publication. This policy explains what information we collect, why, and the choices you have. We collect as little as we can, and we never sell your personal information.
Information we collect
Newsletter. If you subscribe, we collect your email address. Subscriptions are processed by Mailchimp (Intuit Inc.) and use double opt-in — you are only added after confirming via email. Every newsletter includes an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing removes you from our audience.
Contact form. If you write to us, we collect the name, email address and message you submit. Submissions are emailed to our editorial inbox and stored within the site so we don’t lose your inquiry. If you tick the newsletter checkbox, your email is also subscribed as described above. We keep inquiries only as long as needed to handle them.
Comments. If you comment on an article, we collect the name, email and content you provide, plus your IP address and browser user-agent to help detect spam. Comments are checked by the Akismet anti-spam service (Automattic Inc.); see the Automattic privacy policy.
Security & server logs. Like nearly every website, our hosting infrastructure and security software record standard access data (IP address, user-agent, pages requested, timestamps) to keep the site secure and functioning. These logs are used only for security and troubleshooting and are rotated routinely.
Cookies & local storage
We do not run advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. The site uses: (a) essential WordPress cookies (for example, if you log in or opt to save your details when commenting); (b) caching cookies set by our performance layer; and (c) your browser’s local storage for on-device preferences — your dark/light theme choice and your markets watchlist. Those preferences never leave your browser and are not transmitted to us.
Third-party services
Market data (prices, charts, market statistics) is fetched by our servers from CoinGecko and alternative.me — your browser does not send them your data, though coin logos are loaded from CoinGecko’s image servers, which see your IP address like any image host. Fonts are served from Google Fonts, so your browser requests font files from Google. Email delivery for newsletters is handled by Mailchimp under its own privacy statement.
Articles may embed content from other websites (for example videos or social posts). Embedded content behaves exactly as if you had visited the other website, which may collect data about you and set its own cookies.
How long we keep data
Comments and their metadata are retained indefinitely so follow-up comments can be recognized and displayed. Contact-form inquiries are kept for as long as needed to resolve them. Newsletter data is kept until you unsubscribe. Security logs are retained briefly and rotated.
Your rights
You may request a copy of the personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it (except data we must keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes). To exercise any of these rights, use our contact form or email hello@chaintelegram.com from the address concerned. You can unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time via the link in any email.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the site evolves; the date at the top reflects the latest revision. Material changes will be noted on this page.
